Mayor hails 'blooming good effort' as town claims national accolade
TOWN mayor Alison Trenery issued a vote of thanks to volunteers after Uttoxeter was named Silver Gilt winner at the nationwide Britain in Bloom contest.
The town’s entry won a series of awards at regional level and was this week recognised by judges of the national competition in a presentation at Llandudno.
Councillor Alison Trenery was quick to offer her congratulations to all the volunteers who put many hours of work into the town’s floral displays.
She said: “This is a massively impressive result for Uttoxeter in Bloom and I’m sure my colleague councillors will wish to join me in sending our thanks and congratulations to all the groups and organisations in town who have made it happen, and to ESBC and Strawberry Garden Centre, who have given tremendous support.
