Police are appealing for information after a woman was attacked while walking her dog. The incident involved a 53-year-old woman who was punched in the face during the ordeal which happened along a Moorlands canal recently.

The incident involved a 53-year-old woman who was punched in the face during the ordeal which happened along a Moorlands canal recently.
The woman told police that two men, in their 20s, had tried to steal her dog from her.
Staffordshire Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
A spokesman for the force said: “Officers were called at 8pm to an address in School Drive, Oakamoor, following reports of violence.
“Police attended and a 53-year-old woman reported being attacked by two males as she walked her dog along the local canal at around 4.30pm.
“The woman said she was approached by two men in their 20s, with Liverpudlian accents, who spoke to her before trying to steal her dog.
“They punched her in the face before departing. The dog, a German Shepherd, was not taken.
“The victim sustained bruises to her face, two black eyes and bruising to her arms, chest and hip.”
The spokesman added: “Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time and are urging any witnesses to come forward.
“Anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police on Facebook, Twitter, or call 101, quoting incident number 805 of June 5.
“Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
