ABBOTSHOLME have a chance to wrap up the Division Four championship early in the Staffordshire Women's Hockey League this weekend.
A victory away to their title rivals Leek 4ths on Sunday will be enough to get the champagne corks popping.
Abbotsholme have dropped just two points in their 13 games to date and need just six points from their remaining five games to celebrate a remarkable first season of competitive action.
However, with the fixture against Leek a ‘six-pointer’, and with the benefit of a vastly superior goal difference over their second placed opponents, Abbotsholme can bring the destiny of the title to an early conclusion.
Abbotsholme have scored more than 100 goals in making their serious claim for first-time honours and beat Leek 4ths 5-2 at home earlier in the season.
