Thousands of people across the Moorlands came out of their houses to support a charity truck run last week. The second 'UHNS Charity Classic Truck Run' took place on Thursday (May 28), between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, during which the apparent last ever ‘Clap for our Carers’ took place across the nation.
Thousands of people across the Moorlands came out of their houses to support a charity truck run last week.
The second ‘UHNS Charity Classic Truck Run’ took place on Thursday (May 28), between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, during which the apparent last ever ‘Clap for our Carers’ took place across the nation.
The truck run was organised by Dave Hill with the help of Dan Lucas.
Dan said: “We had more than ten trucks take part in the run which was quite emotional to be honest.
“It was emotional to see all the people out clapping, waving their flags and banging their p[ans as we drove past. I reckon there must have been thousands along the route which took in several places such as Cheadle, Kingsley, Kingsley Holt, Froghall and Forsbrook and Blythe Bridge.”
More than £500 has been raised as part of the two truck runs, and the organisers are hoping to have a larger scale fundraising run out when the current Government restrictions are eased.
Dan said: “We are hoping to organise another run where anyone can join in, so that we can raise even more money for the NHS.”
