A MAJOR shake-up of policing in Staffordshire could leave the Cheadle area without adequate cover, it was claimed this week.
Police responding to emergencies in the town or outlying villages will start their shifts in Stoke-on-Trent as part of a move to create a new ‘response hub’ for North Staffordshire.
Response officers now based in the town will instead attend daily briefings in Hanley before being deployed to key locations across the Moorlands.
But the plan has prompted fears that Cheadle will be left without adequate emergency cover.
