CHEQUE HANDED OVER TO PROSTATE CANCER UK
A BLYTHE Bridge man who took part in a ‘brave the shave’ fund-raiser following his own cancer treatment has raised a total of £700 for charity.
Phil Jackson underwent 20 weeks of treatment for prostate cancer at Royal Stoke University after being diagnosed just before Christmas last year.
He and wife Lydia organised a head and beard shave at Gill Maiden Hairdressers in Blythe Bridge last month.
Now the 68-year-old has handed over a cheque for £600 to Prostate Cancer UK and spent the remainder of the money on tracksuit bottoms donated to the hospital.
Phil said: “We managed to raise so much money and were lucky enough to give a large amount to the charity, but also donate tracksuit bottoms to the hospital, which will make a difference.”
